Celebrating International Day with Stratech on Biological Diversity, 22nd May 2024
On 22nd May 2024, coinciding with the International Day on Biological Diversity, the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology hosted a Stratech Mini Exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Green Group. This event, part of the school's ongoing commitment to sustainability, featured a special focus on environmental conservation through Stratech’s partnership with Ecologi. The exhibition, held in the school’s Combination Room, provided attendees with the opportunity to learn about Stratech’s green initiatives and how they could contribute to a more sustainable future.
As part of their commitment, Stratech offered a unique chance for attendees to plant a tree for free through Ecologi, a renowned platform dedicated to global reforestation and carbon offsetting projects. This initiative perfectly aligned with the Dunn School's efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and promote eco-friendly practices within the scientific community.
Moreover, Stratech demonstrated their support for the Dunn School's green initiatives by donating funds to the Green Group. These funds were earmarked for the purchase and refill of SESI products, which are known for their eco-friendly attributes and ethical sourcing. This contribution aimed to further reduce single-use plastics within the school, reinforcing the commitment to sustainability.
The exhibition, celebrated on a day dedicated to recognizing the importance of biodiversity, also served as a platform for scientists and researchers to engage with Stratech representatives, exploring sustainable alternatives in scientific supplies and discussing how they could further integrate green practices into their work. By supporting such initiatives, the Dunn School and Stratech demonstrated leadership in fostering a culture of environmental responsibility, ensuring that their contributions to science also contributed positively to the planet.
