Food Waste Recycling
Food waste is a critical environmental challenge contributing to greenhouse gas emissions. When discarded in landfills, it releases methane, a significant greenhouse gas. To combat this, the Dunn School has launched a proactive Food Waste Recycling Initiative.
We've strategically placed food waste bins across the Dunn school, designed to segregate food scraps from other refuse, facilitating eco-friendly composting or processing. This initiative is a call to action for the Dunn School community to prioritize these bins for all food waste, stepping away from traditional disposal methods.
By participating, you're actively diminishing our collective environmental footprint. These bins are not only accessible but also maintained daily during weekdays, ensuring a consistent and efficient approach to food waste management.
Our objective is dual: to significantly lessen the detrimental effects of food waste and to cultivate a culture of sustainability and conscientious waste management. Every piece of food waste correctly sorted is a stride towards a more sustainable future. We encourage you to adopt this simple yet impactful habit of utilizing the food waste bins for a greener tomorrow.
