Dunn School, Grenier Bio, and Oxford Food Hub: Celebrating World Food Day with Sustainability and Generosity
In alignment with our ongoing commitment to sustainability and community welfare, the Green Group proudly commemorated World Food Day on 16th October 2023 with a series of impactful activities. Our aim was to raise awareness about global food scarcity and to take tangible steps towards both reducing waste and supporting our local community. To promote sustainability and reduce waste, we partnered with Grenier Bio to restock and refill household SESI products at Dunn School. SESI products, known for their eco-friendly attributes and ethical sourcing, were selected to encourage the reduction of single-use plastics. With Grenier Bio's support, Dunn School members eagerly participated by refilling their household items, thereby contributing to our sustainability mission. Furthermore, Grenier Bio set up an exhibition stall at Dunn School to showcase their green lab products, offering our community insights into sustainable lab practices and the innovative solutions they provide. To mark World Food Day, the Dunn School community came together and made monetary donations, culminating in a collective contribution of £100, which was then generously donated to the Oxford Food Hub. In a gracious gesture, the Oxford Food Hub donated various types of baguettes, allowing Dunn School members to take them for free. This act underscored the Dunn School's community service spirit and emphasized the importance of collaboration and mutual support between local organizations dedicated to sustainability and addressing food scarcity.
