Green Initiatives at Dunn School
The Sir William Dunn School of Pathology's Environmental Sustainability Group at the University of Oxford spearheads diverse eco-initiatives aimed at minimizing environmental footprints and nurturing a sustainable ethos. Laboratories are responsible for a significant share of carbon emissions (reference 1, 2, 3, 4), with equipment use—including running, cooling, datacentres, and maintenance—accounting for an estimated 40–60%, consumables for 20–35%, and travel and accommodation for 10–20%. Our eco-projects encompass the department's entirety: cafe, combination room, IT, labs, facilities, stores, and administrative sectors.
