Eco Showcase: Dunn School's Sustainable Suppliers Exhibitions
The Dunn School at the University of Oxford takes pride in its Sustainable Suppliers Exhibitions, not just as displays but as pivotal elements in our green journey. Orchestrated by Clemence Levet, these eco-expositions align with various global environmental observances, set within the Dunn School's combination room. Suppliers unveil eco-centric lab products, introducing staff and students to greener lab alternatives. Each exhibitions resonating with a unique environmental theme:
January 30: National Seed Swap Day (Seed diversity and agriculture)
February 2: World Wetlands Day (Wetland ecosystems)
February (19-23rd February 2024): University of Oxford Green action week
March 18: Global Recycling Day (Recycling and waste management)
April 22: Earth Day (Environmental awareness and climate change)
May 22: World Biodiversity Day (Preservation of biodiversity)
June 5: World Environment Day (Environmental concerns and conservation)
June (one week): The Great Big Green Week
July 28: World Nature Conservation Day (Nature conservation)
September 5: Amazon Rainforest Day (Rainforest preservation)
September 16: World Cleanup Day (Community cleanup)
October 4: No Disposable Cup Day: Encourages reducing waste and promoting sustainability by eliminating single-use cups

Further than product presentations, our suppliers join hands in several eco-initiatives. For instance, they facilitate the purchase of Sesi and Ecover household products, enabling us to set up a refill station at the Dunn School, which significantly reduces our reliance on single-use items. Our Gardening Club, Monthly Green Awards (Support Staff, Master Gardener, Sustainable Supplier, Community Catalyst, Sustainable Lab, Eco-Student, Water Saver, Green Event, Waste Warrior, Sustainability Champion, Freezer Challenge and Eco Captain), and community activities like the Repair Cafe at Share Oxford also benefit from their generous support. They also bolster the Dunn School's Green Action Weeks, underscoring their commitment to environmental consciousness.
These collective endeavors not only nudge us towards eco-friendly choices but also lay foundational steps for expansive sustainability at Dunn School.
