Promoting Sustainability through the Unity Fridge & Goodwill Freezer
Located within the Dunn School café area, the Unity Fridge and Goodwill Freezer are key initiatives promoting sustainability, reducing food waste, and encouraging community sharing. These shared spaces provide staff and students with opportunities to redistribute surplus food rather than allowing it to go to waste.
The Unity Fridge is available for sharing surplus refrigerated food items, while the Goodwill Freezer provides space for frozen goods that would otherwise be discarded. Members of the Dunn School community are encouraged to place suitable unused food items into these shared spaces for others to use freely.
These initiatives help reduce unnecessary food waste, support a culture of sharing and community care, and encourage more sustainable use of resources across the department. By extending the life of surplus food and making it accessible to others, the Dunn School continues to promote practical, everyday sustainability within the workplace.
