Dunn School Green Festival – Green Action Week February 2025
The Dunn School celebrated the University of Oxford’s Green Action Week (10–14 February 2025) with a vibrant Green Festival organised by the Dunn School Green Group. The event brought together staff and students in a shared commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and environmental action.
Highlights included a clothes and plant swap, supported by B&Q's donation of plants, and a charity bake sale with contributions from the Dunn School Cafe, Sainsbury’s St Aldates, and the Dunn School Postgraduate Research Student Association (PRSA). Together these activities raised more than £450 for Oxford Mutual Aid.
Practical sustainability was showcased through a popular Bike Doctor session offering free repairs, supported by university sustainabilit, a refill station with SESI household products, and sustainability talks on topics including lab plastic recycling by Danielle Stephens from Recycle Lab and Community-Wide Food and Goods Rescue Initiative by Saroj Saurya. Industry partner Greiner Bio-One presented sustainable products, while lab tours by Clemence Levet and Anne Hedegaard highlighted the Dunn School’s green initiatives in action.
The festival was a great success, raising awareness, reducing waste, and strengthening community engagement — an inspiring contribution to Oxford’s Green Action Week.
